Business Training & Enterprise Development

Across Africa, over 20% of working-age adults start a new business, and 75% of youth plan to launch one within five years (Brookings Foresight Africa 2024). Mtindo is equipping youth with skills, mentorship, and tools to successfully start and grow their businesses.

Free Enterprise Advocacy

In Uganda, over 700,000 graduates enter the job market annually, yet only about 90,000 secure formal employment. (Source: Mastercard Foundation & NPA Monitor). We champion free enterprise by creating platforms that connect young entrepreneurs with resources, networks, and opportunities to thrive economically.

Climate Adaptation & Resilience Training

Africa has one of the world’s youngest populations, with nearly 60% under 25, who face disproportionate risks from climate change, including extreme weather, food insecurity, and economic instability (Journal of African Development, 2023). Mtindo trains youth in practical climate adaptation and resilience strategies to protect communities and livelihoods.

Sexual & Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Advocacy

According to the 2022 Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (UDHS 2022), about 23.5% of girls aged 15–19 have begun childbearing (UNICEF) . Mtindo is empowering youth through SRHR education, awareness campaigns, and youth-friendly dialogues, equipping them with knowledge and resources to make informed choices and build healthier futures.

Mental Health Advocacy

Around 12% of Ugandans face mental health challenges, yet access to services is limited. According to the 2024 National Household Survey and health reporting, about 12 % of the population in Uganda were identified as facing probable mental‑health challenges in the latest national data, showing a significant mental health burden in the country.

Mental Health & Career Pathways

Be the Change for Youth! Help us empower Kampala’s young minds with mental health support and career guidance.

The Mental Health & Career Pathways Project, a partnership between Mtindo Network Development Initiative and the Lyfe Network, supports young people’s mental well-being while guiding them toward clear, sustainable career paths.

Through mental health awareness, psychosocial support, and career guidance, the project helps youth build emotional resilience, make informed career choices, and transition confidently into education, entrepreneurship, or work. Our goal is to reach 1000+ youth, both in and out of school, in densely populated and vulnerable communities like Kawempe and Kamwokya, empowering them to thrive despite challenges.
